Jordan is co-advised with
Dario Chavez and works on quantifying peach tree architecture for breeding applications. His research seeks to quantify tree architecture in Peaches (Prunus persica) by utilizing imaging technology and data analysis amongst different cultivars and rootstocks. Working within both, the Plant Breeding and Computational Plant Science communities, I hope to expand the scope of my research to include bioinformatic approaches to identify certain architectural characteristics and uncovering genetic traits that may influence these common themes. In the future, I wish to pursue a career with an NGO or government agency to help combat food insecurity by working directly with various staple crops in their respective regions
