Research Interests
Wes Bonelli leads the development of our high-throughput phenotying platform PLANT IT within the arpa-e ROOTS project. PLANT IT will enable 3D root phenotyping in the field for researchers and breeders world-wide. His efforts contribute to the infrastructure needed to reveal the genotype to phenotype map in plants.
He joined the computational plant science lab in February 2020 and is an expert in software engineering. He received his B.A. in Computer Science from the University of Virginia and plans to pursue a PhD at the University of Georgia in August 2020.
