Research Interest
Peter's current project develops machine learning and image processing algorithms to characterize the variability in root hairs from microscopy images. His goal is to quantify mechanisms underlying the adaption of roots to drought and nutrient availability.
He has a background in Aerospace Engineering (B.sc.) and Geomatics (M.sc.). He obtained both degrees at TU Delft where he performed research on monitoring growth changes of individual trees in forests with airborne laser scanning. His wider interest is to develop imaging algorithms that characterize the variability across multiple architectural scales in various crop roots.
